![Nevada Nights : 1974 : Elvis Presley FTD 2 CD Set [2 Concerts]](images/cd_nevada_nights_sml.jpg) |
Nevada Nights is an excellent FTD double delight and a chance for fans to obtain these shows in the best sound. The sound features Elvis sort of somewhat up close, up front sort of between Fort Baxter and the DAE (Diamond Anniversary) sound - listenable and warm to the ear ... This first CD features the famous opening night : August 19, 1974, where Elvis departed from the conventional opening - not starting with Also Sprach Zarathustra or See See Rider - instead opening with Big Boss Man - and including many songs he had not performed live before. |

I'll Remember You is a single disc 5" soundboard recording of the dinner show from February 3, 1973. This is a Las Vegas engagement that has not previously been covered by FTD, and the release is in line with our policy of releasing at least one show from every Las Vegas/Lake Tahoe season and every tour. As most of you know we unfortunately don’t have soundboard recordings from every show, but we are still trying to find more. With I'll Remember You, FTD finally gives us a brand 'new' show from February 3, 1973 Midnight Show.

Fortunately Ernst delivers not only a brand new show, but obviously from the superior recordings 'available' he picked one with excellent sound - it just as good a sound as the Dinner Show recording. This concert has been a pleasure to repeat listen too. Thus I must recommend I'll Remember You, not really for any content (as it's the same as Aloha From Hawaii) with 'Until its Time' swapped from 'Burning Love', but for the sound quality clear throughout!

![Elvis : Chicago Stadium : 1976 : Elvis Presley FTD 2 CD Set [2 Concerts]](images/cd_chicago_stadium_soundboard_ftd_sml.jpg) |
Chicago Stadium is a fantastic time capsule of a much healthier, more focused Elvis as he began the final quarter of 1976 with a renewed sense of performing enthusiasm and that excitement comes through clearly both in Elvis' performance as well as the fan's reactions. All Elvis fans should dust off a space of honor on their shelf for Chicago Stadium!! The concert on disc 2 is simply superb and there is one song that sums up the difference in Elvis' performance on these two concerts, that being Early Morning Rain. On Disc 1 Elvis stops John Wilkinson 30 seconds into John's solo [that Elvis sings too], asking John 'can you put it up a key higher ... because I'm not J.D. Sumner ...' However the very next night Elvis nails this song beautifully taking my breath away as they say, and figuratively speaking, the first version takes Elvis' breath away! And this is how I find the two concerts, Disc 2 features HIGH QUALITY SOUND with a BRILLIANT performance. And you are getting here two CDs for the normal price of one! Both shows on Chicago Stadium are taken directly from the RCA soundboard tapes and are in great quality and this double CD set is highly recommended !!!

FTD release of 3000 South Paradise Road a 2 disc 7" 'Classic Album' format with a 16-page booklet. This release takes a closer look at Elvis' engagement at the Las Vegas Hilton with a soundboard recording in August of 1972. The main disc is from the dinner show on August 12, and the second disc is culled from the rehearsals on August 4th, the date of the opening of the engagement. As with '48 Hours To Memphis', this release has been prepared by Robert Frieser and Hans Slebos, who once again has done a fabulous job of collecting information and materials for the project. There will be additional information in the next few weeks. '3000 South Paradise Road' provides a unique experience of Elvis rehearsing, 6 hours before the opening night at the Las Vegas Hilton on August 4, 1972. As disc 2 is captured on a personal tape recorder, the sonic quality is below standards, but historical significance more than compensates for its audio limitations.
This is a unique performance by Elvis with stand out songs, What Now My Love, My Way, An American Trilogy and Fever. The quality of the music having a separation contributing to the overall performance that one normally only associates with stereo recordings. FTD have chosen to present this concert in their 7" size Classic Album packaging and it comes with a fantastic booklet with liner notes that are very well written and well worth reading, and it is nice to see Elvis on stage in a two piece non-jumpsuit outfit, clearly still in his prime.
It is clear how much Elvis valued and wanted to perform What Now My Love this day, August 12, 1972 with his comment about getting serious before starting the song, and he performs in near flawlessly. And of particular interest are Elvis' comments after My Way, where he says 'that's a very good song ... I wouldn't want to associate it with my own personal life ... now the end is near and all that jazz... it's a nice song, it's okay for Sinatra but ... I haven't even ate it up and spit it out yet, still chewing on it ... no it's a good song ... And indeed as indicated above, What Now My Love and My Way : two great performances, and totally unique. So in a word, do I recommend this release : YES! |

FTD 5" digi pack release, 'From Hawaii To Las Vegas' of an originally recorded soundboard recording of Elvis' January 25, 1973 Las Vegas dress rehearsal for his January/February 1973 season at The Las Vegas Hilton. The rough audio quality is more than compensated by the fascinating insight into how Elvis worked in order to create his shows. With little talk, and a lot of music, we are invited to a first row presentation of what he had in mind, and yet he decided to change the repertoire the very next day. Among the many songs is 'Separate Ways' - rehearsed with and without the orchestra - a song that Elvis chose to never perform in public. So a very interesting release, one the likes of we have not had before. |

FTD will release Another Saturday Night in their 5" concert CD series at the end of April. If one place is to be picked as the most important in the career of Elvis Presley, it is without doubt Shreveport in the northwest part of Louisiana. The exposure that Elvis got through the radio broadcast of The Louisiana Hayride in 1954-56 was one of the key factors of establishing the early part of his career. With the exception of Las Vegas, there is no place where Elvis played more shows, and his return to the city in 1975 was like a homecoming to both Elvis and the many fans he had there since he started out. FTD have chosen to release the soundboard from the evening show of June 7, definitely a show that Elvis and the audience truly enjoy, and with a great set list featuring old and new favourites. The CD comes in a 5" digipack with an eight-page booklet featuring photos from the June 1975 tour. |

Dixieland Rocks will blow you away! The sound is awesome with crisp, clear vocals and Elvis is in fine form, both vocally and in his interplay with the band and the very receptive audience. At this stage of his career (1975) some of his concerts were rushed and lacked a little polish, but not his concerts in Murfeesboro, Tennessee on May 6 and 7. |

Big Boss Man represents Elvis' 18th March - 1st April 1975 Las Vegas season. What we get is a full CD (78 minutes) of parts of 3 shows from that season, giving us some rarely performed songs as well as one (almost complete) show from this season. The 3 shows represented are first the 28.3.75 M/S, then 5 songs from 31.3.75 M/S and finally 3 songs from the 22.3.75 M/S. |

Dinner At Eight is a sounboard recording of Elvis' dinner show in Las Vegas December 13th, 1975. The tape is different to most of what we call 'soundboards', this concert was recorded on a reel-to reel tape, and not the usual cassette. The show is still in mono though, and there are a few tape problems along the way, but in general it sounds good. |

I Found My Thrill is a soundboard concert recorded at the on January 27, 1974 Dinner show at The Las Vegas Hilton and represents the first official representation of Elvis' Winter Jan/Feb 1974 Las Vegas season. Here we find Elvis fresh and with a new repertoire, which surprisingly includes two 1970 standards Sweet Caroline and You've Lost That Loving Feeling as well as Polk Salad Annie and two very special rare performances of Spanish Eyes and Blueberry Hill. Well before this CD ever came out fans were asking for this release and FTD have included as much as possible from this season. |

![Dixieland Delight : 1975 : Elvis Presley FTD 2 CD Set [2 Concerts]](images/cd_ftd_dixieland_delight_sml.jpg) |
Dixieland Delight is a 2 CD set that features concert performances from May 31, 1975 and June 1, 1975 in Huntsville, Alabama. Elvis was truly inspired by the superb reaction he received in Huntsville, selling out five shows. It’s the only time in his career that he did so many consecutive performances in one City. Dixieland Delight will be released as a 5" digipack and will be the first such release to include a 4-page booklet. Dixieland is truly a Delight !!!!!!! Listen to sound samples. |

![Elvis : New Year's Eve 1976 FTD 2CD : [Audience Recording]](images/cd_ftd_newyearseve_sml.jpg) |
This FTD CD is a double CD-set featuring Elvis Presley's complete concert on New Year's Eve 1976 in Pittsburgh. Important : This is an Audiance recording - NOT a soundboard. The sound quality is both noisy, hollow, and loaded with crowd noises, but this is a historic moment and probably the best quality we are ever going to get.
While Pittsburghers rang in the New Year Friday night in front of their TV sets with Guy Lombardo, 16,409 others Scorned 1977 with Elvis Presley at the Civic Arena. After three opening acts and a lengthy intermission, Presley unded on stage 35 minutes before midnight, but you would rethought the clock had struck 12. He received an ear-deafening ovation punctuated by thousands of blasts from flash bulbs and a patchwork of 'We-Love-You-Elvis' signs hoisted aloft. Presley had perhaps the most captive audience since Johnny Cash played Folsom Prison. And rarely did he lose his iron grip on the crowd during his 90 minutes on stage.
At the stroke of midnight, the house lights went up and Elvis led the crowd in singing 'Auld Lang Syne'. There were some brief huzzahs from the crowd but in a few minutes Presley was back singing. Overall, it was a fine show, though Presley seems to have lost some of the spark that turned his concerts of yesterday into events. He worked hard. |

Tucson '76 is the 6th FTD release and is a soundboard recording of Elvis Presley's concert in Tucson, Arizona on June 1st, 1976. This concert was chosen because Elvis is in very good voice, he's in a good mood. This concert will surprise many of you. Many of the usual songs from that period are there, but there's also a great rockin' Burning Love (with a long finale), followed by the first surprise of the evening, an excellent version of Help Me Make It Through The Night. After that Elvis asks: 'what do you wanna hear?', and people shout all kinds of song-titles, and Danny Boy is suggested. And then Elvis himself starts doing this song. At first both Elvis and the band seem a little unsure, but they get more and more into the song, and it reaches a beautiful full climax. |

Summer Festival contains a complete soundboard recording of Elvis' show at the Las Vegas Hilton on August 11, 1972. Plus some bonus tracks. This is for me a REAL pleasure to get a soundboard release from this summer in Las Vegas with enough 'bonus songs' to fill the running time to nearly 74 minutes AND represent Elvis' repertoire during this season. The representation here varies from the good to very good category, with several songs pretty excellent. Therefore even before I listen to the CD, I expected to be in for a treat ... |

It's Midnight is a soundboard recording of Elvis Presley live at the Las Vegas Hilton, August 24, 1974 - Midnight Show. The show is a solid performance. Better than most of his early '73 performances and sure much better than most of his '76 shows. Elvis is in fine voice, he is relaxed, and the performances are solid. His is in very good humor throughout the show, although his a little acid in some of his jokes, maybe a side effect of his disappointment in have to be back to the old pattern. But the show itself is interesting because he kept the base of the new concert, so all the new songs are here: 'If You Love Me (Let Me Know)', 'It's Midnight', 'If You Talk In Your Sleep', 'Softly...', omitting only 'Promised Land' and 'Good Times Charlie's Got The Blues'. |

The Impossible Dream captures Elvis Presley at the start of his fourth Las Vegas season beginning on January 26th 1971 and marks the first time RCA/BMG/FTD have officially released live recordings from this year ... Overall it is a short and satisfying show, with a few songs introduced live for the first time alongside some excellent bonus songs. |

Takin' Tahoe Tonight is a soundboard recording of Elvis Presley's concert at the 'High Sierra Theatre' at the Sahara Tahoe Hotel, Nevada at 3AM on May 13, 1973. The bonus songs are from the midnight show the same night. Recommended listening. While a few bootlegs do capture Elvis during this period, RCA realised that Elvis was not performing at 'full blast' and until now no concert from this period has ever been released. So this new FTD CD is a real first. |
