Frankie And Johnny : FTD Special Edition Movie Soundtrack CD [7" Classic Album Presentation]

The Frankie And Johnny movie soundtrack will be re-released when FTD 'have made the neccessary corrections'. This will be 'probably in September/October'. This is released in the FTD Special Edition Movie Soundtrack series featuring improved re-mastering of both the original LP and the bonus alternate takes. The CD itself contains both previously released and previously unreleased outtakes. It is a standard CD but housed in a deluxe 7" (17.5 cm) triple-fold-out package.

Blue Hawaii : The Expanded Alternate Album From MRS : Deluxe CD / 40 Page book

The

Memphis Recording Service will release a CD/Book package titled 'Blue Hawaii : The Expanded Alternate Album' at the end of April. The CD is an expanded edition of the original soundtrack album 'Blue Hawaii' originally released in 1961. It contains many previously unreleased out-takes and alternate versions of the soundtrack recording including Elvis’ number 1 hit, 'Can’t Help Falling in Love'. As a bonus, the CD is accompanied by a 40 page book containing many rare and unpublished photographs taken on and off the set of 'Blue Hawaii'. This CD is presented exactly the same as the MRS releases : The Complete Louisiana Hayride Archives 1954-1956, Off Duty With Private Presley Book Deluxe CD set, Tupelo Welcomes Home Elvis Presley Deluxe CD set and the Such A Night in Pearl Harbor Deluxe CD/ 100 Page Book set to be released in March.

G.I. Blues : The Cafe Europa Sessions 4 CD Deluxe Set

G.I. Blues : The Cafe Europa Sessions 4 CD Deluxe Set contains nearly 4 hours of Elvis' officially Unreleased studio takes from the 'Café Europa' sessions, recorded for the movie ultimately titled G.I. Blues. The audio contained here includes the master recordings from the original soundtrack album 'G.I. Blues' plus, hours of alternate takes of all songs, with all the Elvis studio banter intact and, instilling new insight and live atmosphere into the complete making of this historic movie soundtrack. These recordings are transferred and processed in 24bit 192k stereo. In addition to these rare recordings, the set includes a 100 page book entertained with pages of unreleased photographs, memorabilia and goes behind the scenes, with full text and documentation and includes contributions from Ray Walker of the Jordanaires and a forward by songwriter Sid Tepper.

King Creole : The Music : FTD Book & CD

King Creole : The Music (book + CD) is a 200-page book with images exclusively designed to complement the music from the film. It consists of two main sections; the recording sessions on January 16, 1958 and song scenes from the filming of the movie (including behind-the scenes shots). The images are classic and well-known shots with the majority being previously unpublished and taken by the original still photographers on the set (no freeze-frames).

Jailhouse Rock is a 2-disc set in the classic album series. Disc 1 features one disc of masters, alternate masters, movie masters and a few bonus cuts in mono. Disc 2 consists of session takes - all in binaural. The package features the 7" inch digipack format with 12-page booklet. There is no In And Outtakes section to the booklet, as FTD will be releasing 'Jailhouse Rock Vol. 2' next year, and it will make more sense to have this section when the entire intended repertoire content is released.

Wild In The Country in the classic albums series presented in the7" digipack format, with a booklet. All tracks have been remixed and remastered for this release and sound truly beautiful. This is a tremendous collection of stunning ballads and the rocking 'I slipped I stumbled I fell'. The outtakes are interesting and I haven't got tired of listening to 27 versions of 5 songs. Interestingly 'Husky Dusky Day' also appears and though very short (50 seconds) it is quite an amusing little ditty sung in duet with the lovely Hope Lang. One of the best FTD releases by far!

This is something that is quintessential to every Elvis fan.Blue Hawaii is rightfully placed at the top of the Elvis Presley movie list. Both the soundtrack and film are truly essential Elvis. They both represent the Elvis that we would like to remember. Another fabulous soundtrack release from FTD, The alternate 'album' of First Takes works extremely well and the packaging is very stylish. The newly remixed audio quality is astounding - especially on the outtakes. With this release FTD corrects the error with the 1997 issued CD where they incorrectly reversed the stereo channels.

Loving You has been carefully restored by Kevan Budd and is a variation of the BMG release from earlier in the year. The FTD label has been able to obtain a handful of movie versions from a brilliant tape source, and on disc 2 you get the opportunity to hear all takes of Elvis recording the title song 'Loving You' on February 14, 1957. You will get 15 takes of the main version in binaural as an extra bonus.

Clambake : FTD Special Edition Movie Soundtrack CD [7" Classic Album Presentation]

This Clambake CD set gives you the original LP, then a batch of first takes and alternate takes. Beautiful packaging and detailed booklet help show the production process and how the songs came to be, and I have to say that 'Clambake' contains some of the most beautiful ballads of any Elvis film. Namely You Don't Know Me the Ray Charles classic and The Girl I Never Loved would have worked on any early 60's Elvis Is Back type LP. But then alas there is the up tempo film songs and they really are quite terrible. 'Who needs money' well I DO, to keep buying these new re-issues, so please FTD make it a worthwhile re-issue. Dont worry I have 'Confidence' in your decisions, theres no job to emmense for these guys haha. Clambake move soundtrack was helped by its great and I do mean Great bonus tracks, Guitar Man, Big Boss Man to name but two.

Spinout : FTD Special Edition Movie Soundtrack CD [7" Classic Album Presentation]

Spinout a great album, a wonderful listening experience. From the classic title track and the lovely ballads such as 'Am I Ready' and 'All That I Am' to the great rock numbers 'Never Say Yes' and 'I'll Be Back' there appears to be something for everybody in this package. 'Never Say Yes' is a wonderful song and is even more enjoyable when heard on its out-take forms and alos do treat yourself to the out-take of the ballad 'Am I Ready', you will find it fuller and, even it is hard to admit, better than the original take on many levels. Plus don't forget the silly numbers (every Elvis movie has them!) 'Beach Shack' and 'Smorgasbord' and it still turns out to be an unexpected enjoyable mid-60's Elvis listening experience. But, the icing on the cake on this ablum are the brilliant bonus songs 'Tomorrow Is A Long Time', 'Down In The Alley' and the beautiful 'I'll Remember You'. I cannot find the words to describe my emotions for these three gems - you will just have to buy the album for the total experience!
