Elvis : Photographs & Memories : Elvis Book |
||
![]() |
![]() Elvis : Photographs & Memories is yet another Elvis photo book by JAT Productions that is highly recommended. 'A picture is worth a thousand words' : exactly what is involved in this new work. In his first two volumes, 'Elvis Sessions' and 'Elvis Sessions II', Joseph included photographs with acute attention to movement and expression, and now with sincerity of purpose, through Joseph, a special, unusual life is re-lived in a special, unusual way. knowing Elvis, as I did, special thoughts come to me with each image. If I were present when Elvis was photographed, I know what was going on with him; if I were not present, studiying his expression -- especially, his facial expression -- spurs mental images -- racks of possibilities of what was in his area at the time.

I think it's important for people to know that this project was conceived in Feb of this year (2001) and obviously it had absolutely NOTHING to do with happened in September. ||
![]() |
Elvis : Live at Del Webb's Sahara Tahoe - You were allowed to take pictures during concerts when Elvis was on tour, but during the engagements at Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe it was prohibited. Sue McCasland was among the very few fans who were able to take pictures. There was a much more intimate atmosphere in Tahoe, because of a smaller showroom, so the risk was higher to get caught while sneaking cameras into the showroom and taking pictures during the concert. With that knowledge, one can appreciate the value of Sue's photos - a real treasure, so to say. And fortunately, Sue has decided to share her personal treasure with the world. You can now |

Elvis Like Any Other Soldier Hardcover Book by Jerry Osborne & Barbara Hahn |
||
![]() |
Elvis Like Any Other Soldier Special 50th Anniversary Edition is the ultimate book on Elvis' army years. While it is packed full of 1500 great photos, we would not describe this as a photo book as such because it is equally or more so jam packed full of information and fine detail on Elvis' two years of military service that makes this book the ultimate reference book. While the photos are all of good qulaity they are not of the photographic paper qulality of say, The Elvis Files Volume 2, 1957-1959 and Volume 3, 1960-1964, A Date With Elvis : The Army Years Revisited, Elvis à Paris, or The Ultimate Elvis In Munich Book. This new edition keeps the fine detail of the original with fascinating insights provided by Elvis' army buddies. As first hand accounts of Presley's life and times begins to fall victim to time, was wonderful too see these memories and moments preserved forever. For the first time, instead of being provided with glimpses and publicity shots of G.I. Elvis, we see him as he really was in heavy, heavy detail. This is a massive book, 2kg, over 500 pages, 29cm x 22cm. Hardcover, printed on glossy paper, color and black & white photo's. |

The Ultimate Elvis In Munich Book is a great book, well bound and using excellent quality of paper. Already from the cover illustrations, it is clear that this is something special, for these are not the run-of-the-mill photos we are normally served up with. Elvis : Caught In A Trap : Elvis Book |
||
![]() |
Elvis : Caught In A Trap really is a great photo book. True, this book contains some of the most amazing Elvis photos ever taken, with Elvis performing on stage with a toy monkey on his back and Elvis on Lamar Fike's back but these tend to stereotype the book almost like a gimmick, they are only 8 of 120 pages and while very interesting don't make for enough reason to buy a book!, but it is the other pages that do, all told it is a high quality book, with clear photos in color and black and white. In all, there are around 135 Elvis Presley photographs in this book, 80 of which are in full color. View sample photos. |

Elvis : Rockin 'N' Nassau : Elvis Book |
||
![]() |
Rock 'n' Nassau is about Elvis' storied 1973 engagement at Long Island's Nassau Coliseum, features many, many never-before-seen Elvis photos and a text by writer Jim Donohue that will blow you away!! Can you remember what you were doing in the summer of '73? Well, I can tell you what Elvis was doing! He was cutting them up live on stage, and one of his sell-out concerts was in front of 16,000 screaming fans at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island, New York. And if the new Elvis Presley photo-book from Joseph Tunzi Publishing is any guide, the tour was indeed a great one. The Elvis photos are black and white and they are a fitting visual record of Elvis Presley before his live performance slide. His striking good looks are well displayed, marred only slightly by some weight gain and a developing double chin. Surprisingly, most of the quality photographs dominating 'Elvis Rock 'n' Nassau' were not taken by a professional photographer. They were snapped by a fan, Carole Mason. Ms Mason is to be congratulated for a job well done, and one that a professional photographer would have been proud of. Sure, there are a few blurry shots, but overall it is a great visual archive. |

My Years With Elvis And The Colonel by Charles Stone : Elvis Presley Book |
||
![]() |
My Years With Elvis And The Colonel by Charles Stone which is definitively the very first book about 'Elvis & The Colonel' that is written by a guy who was there. The storyline is based on Charles' memories, unlike some previous Colonel books that were based on false assumptions and fabricated stories told by a third party. We all know that with the passing of Colonel Parker in 1997, not only the person of Colonel Parker was gone forever, but also gone were all of his memories. During his lifetime, neither 'the Colonel' nor his righthand man, Tom Diskin wrote a book about the times with Elvis. |

Elvis : Special Delivery : The Ultimate Elvis Presley Collectors Box |
||
![]() |
The Special Delivery : The Ultimate Elvis Presley Collectors Box contains an unbelievable soft cover book promoted in the pre-publicity as a 'unique 60-page Elvis & Priscilla Wedding Album', while I felt sure this was going to be the highlight of the box set I was not prepared for how comprehensive it is, and I must admit I did not know there where so many high quality photos of Elvis and Priscilla's Wedding available. It contains both detailed information and photos, measures 15 1/2 inches [16.5cm] x 9 inches [23.5cm] and you would expect to pay around $59.95 for it on its own. The size of the book makes it easy to handle and look through without being too small. You don't have to store it away on a bookshelf, it can be kept handy to be used and enjoyed. Although it does come in a nice collectors box!!! It is something I [and anyone that buys a set] will keep forever and I have not doubt whatsoever that both Priscilla and Lisa Marie would appreciate it if the producers would send them a copy each. However as the set is almost sold out that may be a problem. Next up we have the 'Fame And Fortune' CD. Now I enjoyed listening to this immensely, it contains 26 tracks all alternate takes and they combine nicely. This I have no doubt is quite valuable as only 1000 were pressed but if it were to be sold individually normally you would expect to pay around $40. The CD is titled 'Fame And Fortune' and contains a total of 13 previously unreleased studio out takes along with a further 13 tracks. |

Return of the King : Elvis Presley's Great '68 Comeback : Paperback |
||
![]() |
On January 1, 1967, a new contract between 'Colonel' Tom Parker and his sole client, Elvis Presley, gave Parker a 50 per cent cut of royalties and profits that Presley generated. It was an unashamed grab for a bigger piece of a pie that had actually been shrinking for some time. Parker's plan to re-establish Presley as a star after he left the army in 1960 had been successful at first, with the success of films like 'G.I. Blues' and 'Blue Hawaii' and their soundtracks. But as the decade progressed the films became formulaic, the music bland, and sales declined. By 1967 Presley's singles struggled to break the top 20, and he hadn't had a number one for six years. Yet by the end of 1968 he was artistically revitalized, re-emerging in a TV comeback special of December that year slimmed down for the now iconic black leather suit, playing country-soul influenced rock like he meant it and loved it. It was the pivotal moment of the second great period of Presley's career, which lasted through to the end of 1970, during which he recorded some of his most enduring records, including 'Suspicious Minds' and 'In The Ghetto'. In 'Return Of The King' author Gillian Gaar shows how Presley reclaimed his crown, making an extraordinary transition from fading MoR balladeer to engaged, vital artist. |

Elvis On Stage is a hard cover book with full-color Elvis photos, taken by the author when attending Elvis Presley shows. Most of the Elvis photos were taken on tour, because in Las Vegas no cameras were allowed. The book is very well done and contains good shots of Elvis on stage starting from 1973 to 1977. |
