FTD (Follow That Dream), Sony BMG's Official Elvis Presley Collectors label was estabished in 1999 to serve the dedicated Elvis collector and to complement the commercial and artistic level of RCA's retail release schedule by issuing repertoire that is considered of interest to serious Elvis fans and collectors, material that is generally not part of mainstream RCA label releases to the public at large. In this section we have RCA professionally recorded concerts in stereo. We also have soundboard recordings. These are tape recordings from the concert mixing desk. Most of Elvis' concerts were recorded this way. The tapes were often used to give new band members an idea of previous shows. The concert was recorded at the mixing desk onto cassette tape, usually in mono. While they are in mono and were never intended for release, this is irrelevant to a large degree if the recording is good. And also if Elvis' performance is good. There are some very good soundboards, - a great example is the 1974 concert included with the excellent book, Fashion For A King - and many that are not as good, these are released for collectors that are happy to have as many shows as they can. Generally the later the year the better the sound quality, but the closer to ’77 the worse Elvis' performance is likely to be. We have put the best soundboards in a sub-section. It is well worth trying one. Everyone is different so it is hard to say who will like what.

It is derived from what must have been a full professional 16-track multi track recording, the sound is absolutely great, and Elvis is in top form. While it is actually not stereo it is very high quality 'hi-fi' and not only is it not a soundboard it compares perfectly with normal stereo releases. ![]() |
Polk Salad Annie contains live RCA stereo recordings from February 15, 1970 in Las Vegas plus bonus tracks from February 17th to February 19th. Polk Salad Annie is the third CD to be released from the professionally recorded February 15th M/S to 19th D/S recordings. Following the original On Stage album, we had an expanded version (with more 69/70 recordings) in 1999, and at last a FTD purely devoted to the second Las Vegas season. Although 'All Shook Up' and the first part of 'I Got A Woman' are not on the tape, the remainder is the complete 15th February midnight show. This is another great release and a must have CD! |

The Wonder Of You features the complete concert from August 13, 1970, it's been mixed from the original 16-track tapes for the first time in its entirety in Stereo by Vic Anesini. Shorn of the intrusive post production dubs, orchestration and background harmonies of the original releases, and given some inspired sound mixing, the songs on this FTD release are a joy to listen to. The improvement in sound and feel of the original releases is remarkable, revealing an unsuspected vitality and energy, and consequently, the enjoyment the album delivers surpasses anything you can anticipate. Elvis : An American Trilogy : 1972 : FTD CD [Stereo] : Elvis Presley FTD CD |
||
![]() |
An American Trilogy contains Las Vegas Concert Recordings from the January/February 1972. This release covers Elvis' engagement at The Las Vegas Hilton in January-February, 1972. RCA did not record entire shows, and several of the new songs Elvis had added to his shows were only recorded once. The consequence is that the main body of the CD - the RCA recordings - feature several previously released versions. Soundboard recordings of other song performances during the engagement were added to the end of the disc in order to make this as representative as possible of Elvis’ repertoire at that time. Unique performances; It's Impossible, It's Over, The Impossible Dream, A Big Hunk O' Love, Until It's Time For You To Go, One Night, and I'll Remember You. |

Elvis : At The International FTD CD [Stereo] : Elvis Presley FTD CD |
||
![]() |
Elvis At The International was recorded by RCA in Stereo during Elvis Presley's triumphant 1969 engagement (August 23, 1969 - Midnight Show) at the International Hotel in Las Vegas. In August 1969 Elvis Presley was bursting with a new enthusiasm and energy. ‘In The Ghetto’ had just charted #3 in the US and Elvis needed to prove to his first Las Vegas audience that the King could reclaim his crown. This is the first ever complete concert released from 1969, with Elvis In Person being a compilation. There is a lot of ambience thus containing the live feel a concert CD should have. The audience is there with you all the time, without taking away the charm of any instrument or any vocal. A great show in great sound quality is all we can ask for. This is a brilliant CD, containing not only the best live version of ‘Suspicious Minds’ released so far but showcases Elvis Presley in fabulous voice and great humor. This is the 20th FTD release and one of their very best, If you had to choose one Elvis show that you could have witnessed then this, August 23rd Midnight show, would have to be near the top of your list. After hearing this I won’t be playing ‘In Person’ again! Includes five (5) RARE Live Recordings. Unique performances; Memories, Baby What You Want Me To Do, Runaway, Reconsider Baby and What'd I Say. |

One Night In Vegas contains the August 10 opening concert. This is Elvis at his very best. It is not easy to find suitable words for this concert. It simply is Elvis at his very best! And that says about everything! One Night In Vegas contains the August 10 opening concert. Several of the songs performed are first (live) versions: 'The Next Step Is Love', 'I Just Can't Help Believing', 'Something', 'You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling', 'You Don't Have To Say You Love Me', 'I've Lost You', 'Bridge Over Troubled Water', 'Patch It Up'. An impressive list! The sound quality is in as to be expected, marvelous. |

Elvis : Spring Tours '77 [Stereo] : Elvis Presley FTD CD |
||
![]() |
Elvis Spring Tours '77 CD : RCA Records wanted to release a new Elvis album, but they only had six unreleased songs in the can. Obviously, that's not enough songs for an album. They couldn't get Elvis into a recording studio to tape anything else, so they followed him around on tour, hoping he would perform some songs he hadn't previously recorded. It ended up that he played only three 'new' songs during that tour. To save tape, no complete concerts were recorded. Only a few select songs were taped at each show. So what we have here is 23 songs taped at 12 different shows between March 26, 1977 and May 3, 1977. The sound quality is very good. It's among the best sounding Elvis live recordings, strictly from an audio point of view. Of course by the time, Elvis wasn't at his best, so from a performance point of view, it's inferior to older recordings. But for the most part, the performances here are decent, although there is a 'been there, done that' feel to a lot of them. Probably the most interesting recordings here are the undubbed versions of two of the songs that ended up on Elvis' last album (Moody Blue). The songs are Unchained Melody and Little Darlin'. |
