It contains 120 tracks recorded in the 1970s, including 27 previously unreleased takes and chronicles the most complex period of Elvis' life through his music. It features every single A & B side released between January 1970 and August 1977, many great studio highlights, and a disc dedicated to the Elvis live. Boxcar Enterprises in association with JAT Publishing will release a 40th Year Anniversary special book, in celebration of Elvis' iconic 'Aloha from Hawaii' titled, Elvis : Aloha via Satellite. This massive most comprehensive 450 page volume is packaged and housed the same as Boxcar's previous outing of 'Elvis Presley's Graceland through the Years' released earlier this year. Promised Land was released along with Elvis Sings The Wonderful World Of Christmas, both in the 7" classic album series in December 2011 along with a new book, A Moment In Time : 4 Days in ‘56, this one is something special, from author and producer Michael Rose [Elvis: Return to Tupelo DVD], a most stunning glimpse of Elvis' life in 1956. Through literally hundreds of photos : many previously unpublished : we get to join Elvis at his show in Detroit on May 25. We stay with the tour for two more days in Columbus and Dayton and finally arrive in Memphis on May 28.

FTD 5" digi pack release, 'From Hawaii To Las Vegas' of an originally recorded soundboard recording of Elvis' January 25, 1973 Las Vegas dress rehearsal for his January/February 1973 season at The Las Vegas Hilton. The rough audio quality is more than compensated by the fascinating insight into how Elvis worked in order to create his shows. With little talk, and a lot of music, we are invited to a first row presentation of what he had in mind, and yet he decided to change the repertoire the very next day. Among the many songs is 'Separate Ways' - rehearsed with and without the orchestra - a song that Elvis chose to never perform in public. So a very interesting release, one the likes of we have not had before. |

I'll Remember You is a single disc 5" soundboard recording of the dinner show from February 3, 1973. This is a Las Vegas engagement that has not previously been covered by FTD, and the release is in line with our policy of releasing at least one show from every Las Vegas/Lake Tahoe season and every tour. As most of you know we unfortunately don’t have soundboard recordings from every show, but we are still trying to find more. With I'll Remember You, FTD finally gives us a brand 'new' show from February 3, 1973 Midnight Show.

Fortunately Ernst delivers not only a brand new show, but obviously from the superior recordings 'available' he picked one with excellent sound - it just as good a sound as the Dinner Show recording. This concert has been a pleasure to repeat listen too. Thus I must recommend I'll Remember You, not really for any content (as it's the same as Aloha From Hawaii) with 'Until its Time' swapped from 'Burning Love', but for the sound quality clear throughout!

Takin' Tahoe Tonight is a soundboard recording of Elvis Presley's concert at the 'High Sierra Theatre' at the Sahara Tahoe Hotel, Nevada at 3AM on May 13, 1973. The bonus songs are from the midnight show the same night. Recommended listening. While a few bootlegs do capture Elvis during this period, RCA realised that Elvis was not performing at 'full blast' and until now no concert from this period has ever been released. So this new FTD CD is a real first. |
