FTD - Follow That Dream Elvis Presley CD's
FTD (Follow That Dream), Sony BMG's Official Elvis Presley Collectors label was estabished in 1999 to serve the dedicated Elvis collector and to complement the commercial and artistic level of RCA's retail release schedule by issuing repertoire that is considered of interest to serious Elvis fans and collectors, material that is generally not part of mainstream RCA label releases to the public at large.
There are the original Collectors CD's with CDs ranging from soundboard recorded concerts (Recorded from the mixing desk in mono) to full RCA professionally recorded concerts in stereo and some great alternate take CDs - Such as The Jungle Room Sessions and Memphis Sessions etc, later FTD introduced the Elvis Classic Album Series where they release the original Elvis albums in deluxe 7" size packaging with a booklet and a usually a second CD of out takes from the same period as the recordings on the album. There is also the Movie Soundtrack Series usually released as a single CD but again in deluxe 7" packaging with booklet.

![]() |
All Shook Up is an RCA stereo recorded concert featuring Elvis' August 26, 1969 Las Vegas performance (midnight show) and includes the laughing version of 'Are You Lonesome Tonight'. Of the 3 'official' complete concerts from this 1969 Vegas season, the sound + concert on All Shook Up has to be the best so far! All Shook Up is one concert that truly captures Elvis' magic and is thoroughly recommended! More Elvis Stereo Concerts. |

Elvis At The International FTD CD |
![]() |
Elvis At The International was recorded by RCA in Stereo during Elvis Presley's triumphant 1969 engagement (August 23, 1969 - Midnight Show) at the International Hotel in Las Vegas. In August 1969 Elvis Presley was bursting with a new enthusiasm and energy. ‘In The Ghetto’ had just charted #3 in the US and Elvis needed to prove to his first Las Vegas audience that the King could reclaim his crown. RCA have already released a few CDs from this season and since Elvis rarely changed his set list during this period, do we really need another August show? The answer is an absolute, resounding, YES. Elvis : One Night In Vegas FTD CD |
![]() |
One Night In Vegas is a RCA stereo recording of Elvis Presley's Las Vegas concert on August 10 1970. The film cameras were in place, the star-studded audience at their tables, the electric tension was super-super-charged as the lights dimmed suddenly in the Showroom Internationale, then plunged the room into darkness. The huge orchestra began its introduction and everyone fell silent. The drapes swung back towards the wings and the air came alive with ecstatic gasps of anticipation. Then ... where there had only been emptiness - there he was! ELVIS! |
An American Trilogy FTD CD |
![]() |
An American Trilogy contains Las Vegas Concert Recordings from the January/February 1972 Engagement. This quarter's regular 5" digipack release covers Elvis’ engagement at The Las Vegas Hilton in January-February, 1972. RCA did not record entire shows, and several of the new songs Elvis had added to his shows were only recorded once. The consequence is that the main body of the CD – the RCA recordings – feature several previously released versions. More Elvis Stereo Concerts. |

The Jungle Room Sessions FTD CD |
![]() |
Since the FTD CD series began it has given us the chance to hear some classic unreleased Elvis Presley material but none more essential that their fourth release 'The Jungle Room Sessions'. After 'The Jungle Room Sessions' the majority of the original releases on 'Moody Blue' and 'From E.P Boulevard' now sound so disappointing. Of all the Elvis Presley CDs produced by the FTD team this is the one you must have, whether you are a fan of 70's Elvis or not. This truly is an astounding packed 72 minutes of essential listening that is also an amazing documentary capturing some extraordinary moments of Elvis' life. More Elvis Alternate Take CDs. |

![]() |
On March 23, 2009 the Follow That Dream Collector's label will release Standing Room Only album as a double CD set in the 7" Classic Album Series. As you know the original concept album was never released and it's possible that the version FTD create was never meant to be, but it's the best way to present the Las Vegas masters from February of 1972 and the masters and outtakes from the March 1972 sessions at RCA. In February, FTD will release Blue Hawaii as a 2 CD Special Edition 2 CD Set in their Classic Movie Soundtrack Series. |

Elvis Country (I'm 10,000 Years Old) 2 CD FTD Special Edition |
![]() |
How do you follow up an album like From Elvis In Memphis and the singles and follow up album that flowed from the 1969 recording sessions at Chip's Moman's Memphis American Sound Studio's? In February 1970 RCA recorded Elvis live in Las Vegas and released the classic live album, On Stage, but it was not until June of that year that Elvis re-entered a studio to cut an album proper. Elvis Country was the result, it was Elvis' only real concept album and in my opinion does rate as Elvis best album.More Elvis Classic Albums. |

Elvis : That's The Way It Is - 2 CD FTD Special Edition |
![]() |
Elvis - That's The Way It Is 2 CD FTD Special Edition - So, you already have the 3-disc That's The Way It Is: Special Edition from 2000, what do you need with this new 2-disc version? Yes, There is over 40 minutes of new material on this 2008 version of That's The Way It Is. Most of the performances not previously released on earlier editions of That's The Way It Is, A Hundred Years From Now, and The Nashville Marathon are incomplete rehearsals and blown takes, though. However, there are some real gems on this release, including the multiple 'Patch It Up' takes. Plus, this edition pulls everything together in one nice package. It has improved sound quality on a number of the previously released alternate tracks. However, the slight degrading of sound quality on most of the master recordings compared to previous releases is disturbing. This is most noticeable with headphones and probably won't otherwise affect you. More Elvis Classic Albums. |

I'll Remember You - Elvis Presley FTD CD |
![]() |
I'll Remember You is a single disc 5" soundboard recording of the dinner show from February 3, 1973. This is a Las Vegas engagement that has not previously been covered by FTD, and the release is in line with our policy of releasing at least one show from every Las Vegas/Lake Tahoe season and every tour. As most of you know we unfortunately don’t have soundboard recordings from every show, but we are still trying to find more.

I Sing All Kinds a collection of outtakes from the sessions in Nashville during 1971 - I Sing All Kinds has been high on the priority list of many fans for quite some time. This is a great CD - highly recommended to all fans. - Review - I Sing All Kinds The Nashville 1971 Sessions CD. |
Memphis Sessions FTD CD |
![]() |
Memphis Sessions is an extraordinary insight into Elvis Presley rediscovering his musical roots. Here is Beale Street Blues and Memphis Soul combined with some of the most meaningful lyrics that Elvis would ever record. This recording session at Chips Moman's American Studios in early 1969 was the most important of Elvis' career. They proved that after years in the wilderness he was still a dynamic and important force in pop culture. More Elvis Alternate Take CDs. |
Made In Memphis FTD CD |
![]() |
Made in Memphis is a single-disc regular Follow That Dream release featuring outtakes from Elvis' sessions in Memphis in 1969 (American Sound Studio), 1973 (Stax Recording Studio) and 1976 (the den at Graceland). There is an additional 5-song set of home recordings made at Sam Thompson's place in November 1973. (Sam was a member of Elvis' entourage and the brother of Linda Thompson, Elvis' steady girlfriend from 1972 to 1976.) |
Studio B FTD CD |
![]() |
Studio B is the sequel to the sensational FTD CD Fame & Fortune and takes us on a journey from Elvis Presley's chart topping year of 1961 (Blue Hawaii etc) to that first taste of movie desperation, 'Roustabout'. There is no doubt that the dynamic force of the 'Elvis Is Back' sessions had been left behind & the smoother sound of the sixties had crept in, but at the same time Elvis' Nashville musicians were the brilliant 'A Team' and his voice had never sounded so beautiful. With a playing time of over an hour and also featuring great cover photos, Ernst & Roger have again released an essential purchase. |
So High - Nashville Out-takes 1966-68 FTD CD |
![]() |
So High features outtakes from Elvis Presley's Nashville sessions during the 1966–1968 period and what an absolute gem it is! |
Elvis On Tour - The Rehearsals FTD CD |
![]() |
Elvis On Tour - The Rehearsals features recordings done at RCA’s studios in Hollywood in March 1972, which were conducted in association with that year’s MGM concert film Elvis on Tour. The CD covers Elvis rehearsals for his upcoming tour, combining classic Elvis live repertoire with some of his new studio material of that time. |
Unchained Melody FTD CD |
![]() |
Unchained Melody is a soundboard recording from an Elvis concert in Charlotte, North Carolina on February 20, 1977. Includes live versions of Moody Blue, Love Letters and Where No One Stands Alone. This is quite a listenable CD and one I'll be playing a few times once I've swapped to a better sounding version of track 18! (A pity as the actual sound image sounds better than on bootlegs! A reminder of the FTD So High problem once again.) Could have enjoyed a few extra tracks as well but it's a good CD similar to Spring Tours, but it most certainly does represent Elvis during this tour and well worth having in your collection.
I Found My Thrill FTD CD |
![]() |
I Found My Thrill represents the first official representation of Elvis' Winter Jan/Feb 1974 Las Vegas season. Here we find Elvis fresh and with a new repertoire, which surprisingly includes two 1970 standards Sweet Caroline and You've Lost That Loving Feeling as well as Polk Salad Annie. Well before this CD ever came out fans were asking Ernst for this CD and Ernst has included as much as possible from this season.
Southern Nights - 1975 Soundboard FTD CD |
![]() |
Southern Nights is a live compilation from the Spring Tours of 1975 and a companion set to 'Dixieland Rocks'.'I found that including the dialogue and one-liners, they really represent 30 tracks on this CD. With a couple of lost opportunities here I'd still rate it as 8/10 and a very worthwhile purchase ... this way your really getting tremendous 'highlights' together! Buy it now and be surprised!
Summer Festival - August 11, 1972 Concert Soundboard |
![]() |
Summer Festival contains a complete soundboard recording of Elvis' show at the Las Vegas Hilton on August 11, 1972. Plus some bonus tracks. This is for me a REAL pleasure to get a soundboard release from this summer in Las Vegas with enough 'bonus songs' to fill the running time to nearly 74 minutes AND represent Elvis' repertoire during this season. The representation here varies from the good to very good category, with several songs pretty excellent. Therefore even before I listen to the CD, I expected to be in for a treat ...
Big Boss Man FTD CD |
![]() |
Big Boss Man contains a concert soundboard recording from Elvis' March 1975 dinner show engagement at the Las Vegas Hilton. Straight away let me tell you that this midnight show was a top show with great mixture of songs. The opening 2001 (thankfully at least here) sounds awful because the soundboard mix hadn't yet been adjusted. This continues through to the start of See See Rider until finally we can hear Elvis & orchestra properly. Elvis starts quite well and soon crazy fans are heard clamouring for his attentions.
Closing Night FTD CD |
![]() |
Closing Night is a soundboard recording of Elvis' show at the Hilton Hotel, Las Vegas September 3, 1973. The first seven songs are recorded at the Dinner show the same day.
Polk Salad Annie FTD CD |
![]() |
Polk Salad Annie contains live RCA stereo recordings from February 1970 in Las Vegas. The main content (47 minutes) is from the February 15, 1970 midnight show. The opening 'All Shook Up' was not recorded in 1970. To fill the CD up to 65 minutes and 25 seconds we get several tracks from February 17th to February 19th. |
The Impossible Dream FTD CD |
![]() |
The Impossible Dream captures Elvis Presley at the start of his fourth Las Vegas season beginning on January 26th 1971 and marks the first time RCA/BMG/FTD have officially released live recordings from this year ... Overall it is a short and satisfying show, with a few songs introduced live for the first time alongside some excellent bonus songs. It may not be Elvis at his absolute best, but certainly a worthy addition to any fan's collection.
Dragon Heart FTD CD |
![]() |
Dragon Heart is a soundboard recording of Elvis Presley's concert at Notre Dame Athletic and Convention Center, South Bend, Indiana on October 1, 1974 and contain's three bonus songs - Trying To Get To You, Blue Christmas & All Right, Okay, You Win.
Takin' Tahoe Tonight! FTD CD |
![]() |
Takin' Tahoe Tonight is a soundboard recording of Elvis Presley's concert at the 'High Sierra Theatre' at the Sahara Tahoe Hotel, Nevada at 3AM on May 13, 1973. The bonus songs are from the midnight show the same night. Recommended listening. While a few bootlegs do capture Elvis during this period, RCA realised that Elvis was not performing at ‘full blast’ and until now no concert from this period has ever been released. So this new FTD CD is a real first.
Dinner At Eight FTD CD |
![]() |
Dinner At Eight is a sounboard recording of Elvis' dinner show in Las Vegas December 13th, 1975. The tape is different to most of what we call 'soundboards', this concert was recorded on a reel-to reel tape, and not the usual cassette. The show is still in mono though, and there are a few tape problems along the way, but in general it sounds good.
The Nashville Marathon FTD CD |
![]() |
The Nashville Marathon features out-takes from Elvis Presley's June and September 1970 recording sessions and is another stunner from the FTD Team! These recording sessions have been explored before on the excellent 'A Hundred Years From Now' and this new CD should be viewed as a part 2. However nine of the tracks have never been released as alternate takes before and the versions of 'Mary In The Morning' and 'Twenty Days and Twenty Nights' alone are reason enough to buy this CD. I have also always enjoyed listening to 'first takes' of Elvis' recordings and Nashville Marathon features eight of those, including the sensational 'Bridge Over Troubled Water'. |
Spring Tours '77 FTD CD |
![]() |
Elvis Spring Tours '77 CD - April 1977 and Elvis, just four months before finally 'leaving the building', is still out on the road supporting the Colonel's gambling habit. Since Elvis refused to go into the studio Felton Jarvis recorded portions of each concert, on a 4 track system, hoping to get some rare material to be included in Elvis' next LP. Unfortunately Elvis just seemed content to run through the same old songs and here, for the first time, we have the highlights from those 12 Spring concerts. |
Dixieland Rocks FTD CD |
![]() |
Dixieland Rocks will blow you away! The sound is awesome with crisp, clear vocals and Elvis is in fine form, both vocally and in his interplay with the band and the very receptive audience. At this stage of his career (1975) some of his concerts were rushed and lacked a little polish, but not his concerts in Murfeesboro, Tennessee on May 6 and 7.
It's Midnight FTD CD |
![]() |
It's Midnight is a soundboard recording of Elvis Presley live at the Las Vegas Hilton, August 24, 1974 - Midnight Show. Elvis Presley's shows in August 1974 were very long, and RCA's tapes are generally incomplete. FTD have selected this show because of Elvis' outstanding performance. The tape runs out after 'If You Talk In Your Sleep' and we have chosen to fill up the CD with the ending of the August 29 Dinner show, mainly to feature the ultra rare 'Early Morning Rain' and create a sense of a complete show. It's Midnight is a mono recording.
Easter Special FTD CD |
![]() |
Easter Special is a brilliant compile of twenty (officially) unreleased Gospel songs and features some excellent alternate versions of old favourites as well as some fascinating Studio discussions. From the opening track of 'March of the Dimes' - Elvis Presley's 1957 plea for the support of Polio victims - to the fabulous 1973 finale of 'If that Isn't Love' this CD is a total delight. Recomended! |
Too Much Monkey Business FTD CD |
![]() |
Too Much Monkey Business features twenty recordings from the sessions that Felton Jarvis and Chip Young recorded in 1980, lifting Elvis Presley's vocals off the original tapes and recording brand new backing tracks. Ten of these recordings originally found their way to the commercially successful 'Guitar Man' album, and FTD has added another ten previously unreleased songs. |
Tucson '76 FTD CD |
![]() |
Tucson 76 is the 6th FTD release and is a soundboard recording of Elvis Presley's concert in Tucson, Arizona on June 1st, 1976. This concert was chosen because Elvis is in very good voice, he's in a good mood. This concert will surprise many of you. Many of the usual songs from that period are there, but there's also a great rockin' Burning Love (with a long finale), followed by the first surprise of the evening, an excellent version of Help Me Make It Through The Night. After that Elvis asks: 'what do you wanna hear?', and people shout all kinds of song-titles, and Danny Boy is suggested. And then Elvis himself starts doing this song. At first both Elvis and the band seem a little unsure, but they get more and more into the song, and it reaches a beautiful full climax.
Elvis : New Years Eve 1976 FTD 2CD |
![]() |
This FTD CD is a double CD-set featuring Elvis Presley's complete concert on 'New Years Eve' 1976 in Pittsburgh. Important : This is an Audiance recording - NOT a soundboard. The sound quality is both noisy, hollow, and loaded with crowd noises, but this is a historic moment and probably the best quality we are ever going to get.
In A Private Moment FTD CD |
![]() |
In A Private Moment is the third Elvis Presley CD from BMG's Follow That Dream Label and is the sequel to RCA's The Home Recordings and feature's performances from Germany in 1959, and from Elvis' Hollywood homes in 1960 and 1966. |
Burbank '68 FTD CD |
![]() |
Burbank '68 is the first release from the long awaited 'collectors label' Follow That Dream and contains a plethora of unreleased tracks from one of the only parts of Elvis Presley's career that almost every fan and critic agree on: The TV-special filmed and recorded for NBC in June 1968. What we get here are 23 tracks (including two tracks of dialogue) of which no less than 14 are previously unreleased. The parts of the TV-special in focus here are the June 25th so called 'dress rehearsal' and the June 29th, 6 PM 'stand up' show, supplemented with a few studio tracks.
Writing For The King FTD Book + 2 CD's |
![]() |
Writing For The King is a 400 page Book with more than 140 interviews with songwriters like Paul McCartney, Leiber & Stoller, Pomus & Shuman, Red West, Mark James and Tony Joe White. Included are two CDs, the first contains previously unreleased RCA recordings of Elvis performing live in Las Vegas (1969 through 1972), the second a selection of the original demos submitted to Elvis.
Rockin' Across Texas FTD Book and 2 CD's |
![]() |
Rockin' Across Texas by Stanley Oberst is a very good book about Elvis' concert tours in Texas in the 1950's and 1970's. FTD's updated version features new stories, updated old stories and some especially rare photographs. Accompanying the book are two Elvis concert 'soundboard' recordings : the June 19, 1974 show in Amarillo, Texas and the July 3, 1976 show in Fort Worth, Texas. There’s also a short, previously unreleased 1960 interview recording with Elvis and Colonel Tom Parker.
