The Elvis Presley series of Legacy Edition multi-disc packages continues its focus on important phases of the king's recording career at RCA Records. The Memphis Record CD : 1969 : Year In Review

This CD -- The Memphis Record -- was originally released in 1987 and at the time was the foremost collection of Elvis' Memphis sessions available. Comprising tracks from both original albums it includes some notably different mixes which makes this release (in my opinion) all the more interesting. All the tracks have been remastered and sound crystal clear and the few different mixes serve to highlight the backing vocal arrangements and instrumentation and offer some different and very interesting insights into the songs. The tracks are obviously in a different order because this is a compilation. The well-designed booklet includes an extensive essay from Peter Guralnick (author of the definitive Elvis biographies 'Last Train To Memphis' and 'Careless Love') covering the sessions and the song choices. To sum-up, this CD remains one of my favourite albums and is a worthy addition to any Elvis collection and a great companion piece to the original albums.

Elvis Country (I'm 10,000 Years Old) : FTD Special Edition 2 CD [7" Classic Album Presentation]

How do you follow up an album like From Elvis In Memphis and the singles and follow up album that flowed from the 1969 recording sessions at Chip's Moman's Memphis American Sound Studio's? In February 1970 RCA recorded Elvis live in Las Vegas and released the classic live album, On Stage, but it was not until June of that year that Elvis re-entered a studio to cut an album proper. Elvis Country was the result, it was Elvis' only real concept album and in my opinion does rate as Elvis best album.

An American Trilogy contains Las Vegas Concert Recordings from the January/February 1972. This release covers Elvis' engagement at The Las Vegas Hilton in January-February, 1972. RCA did not record entire shows, and several of the new songs Elvis had added to his shows were only recorded once. The consequence is that the main body of the CD - the RCA recordings - feature several previously released versions. Soundboard recordings of other song performances during the engagement were added to the end of the disc in order to make this as representative as possible of Elvis’ repertoire at that time. Standing Room Only album as a double CD set in the FTD 7" Classic Album Series. As you know the original concept album was never released and it's possible that the version FTD create was never meant to be, but it's the best way to present the Las Vegas masters from February of 1972 and the masters and outtakes from the March 1972 sessions at RCA. Standing Room Only was the working title for the Elvis On Tour Movie. This CD features studio recording some of which were performed live in On Tour.

48 Hours To Memphis : FTD CD : 7" Packaging

48 Hours to Memphis is a Live Concert recorded on March 18, 1974 in Richmond Virginia, 2 days before Recorded Live On Stage In Memphis. It is derived from what must have been a full professional 16-track multi track recording, the sound is absolutely great, and Elvis is in top form. While it is actually not stereo it is very high quality 'hi-fi' and not only is it not a soundboard it compares perfectly with normal stereo releases. The booklet is full of great pictures from the actual show and informative notes. The CD comes in a 7" digi format with a 16 page booklet.

Elvis As Recorded At Madision Square Garden, was recorded during the evening show on Saturday, June 10. In June 1972. Elvis Presley returned to New York City for his first performances there since his final appearance on Ed Sullivan's 'Talk of the Town' more than 15 years earlier. His shows at Madison Square Garden were, in fact, his first full concerts in New York: during previous visits to the Big Apple, Presley had only performed a few numbers in television studios. Accordingly, Presley's four shows at Madison Square Garden were huge media events. As part of the pre-concert hype, RCA announced that it would release a live album of the concerts one week after the final show.

This marks the first new Elvis Presley single from RCA Records in over twenty years. Included on the CD-single are: If I Can Dream, recorded live for Elvis' legendary 1968 Comeback TV special; America the Beautiful, recorded on stage in December 1975 at the Las Vegas Hilton; and Amazing Grace, recorded at RCA's Studio B in Nashville on March 15, 1971.
