Jailhouse Rock FTD Special Edition 2 CD

Follow That Dream will simultaneously release two new albums in mid-September. Jailhouse Rock is a 2-disc set in the classic album series. Disc 1 features one disc of masters, alternate masters, movie masters and a few bonus cuts in mono. Disc 2 consists of session takes - all in binaural. The package features the 7" inch digipack format with 12-page booklet. There is no In And Outtakes section to the booklet, as FTD will be releasing 'Jailhouse Rock Vol. 2' next year, and it will make more sense to have this section when the entire intended repertoire content is released. Released at the same time is From Sunset To Vegas.

Jailhouse Rock includes the soundtracks to the Elvis Presley movies "Love Me Tender" (1956) and "Jailhouse Rock" (1957), and features four previously-unreleased tracks. A complete soundtrack album was never previously released for either movie. At the time of the movies' release, the songs were released on various EPs and singles; they were also collected on such compilation albums as A DATE WITH ELVIS. Elvis - Jailhouse Rock includes Love Me Tender in stereo for the first time on CD.

Using a better quality and complete tape found in Elvis' private collection, for the first time this The Complete Million Dollar Quartet release is in it's complete form and will run in the correct sequence, approximately 12 minutes longer than previous releases. Kevan Budd who did the audio restoration work on the releases; Elvis At Sun, Elvis Presley and Loving You has again been hard at work on the audio restoration of this tape.

Elvis' Christmas Album CD

Elvis Presley recorded his first Christmas album in sessions of September 5 - 7, 1957 at Radio Recorders in Hollywood. It was simply entitled 'Elvis' Christmas Album' and was released in October 1957. Content included Christmas hymns, secular Christmas songs and non-holiday gospel numbers. It initially hit #1 for 4 weeks on Billboard's pop album chart and revisited the chart due to strong sales in subsequent holiday seasons through 1962. Eventually, the original 1957 content with original cover art came out again in the CD age.

Loving You has been carefully restored by Kevan Budd and is a variation of the BMG release from earlier in the year. The FTD label has been able to obtain a handful of movie versions from a brilliant tape source, and on disc 2 you get the opportunity to hear all takes of Elvis recording the title song 'Loving You' on February 14, 1957. You will get 15 takes of the main version in binaural as an extra bonus.

Elvis - 50,000,000 Elvis Fans Can't Be Wrong 2 CD FTD Special Edition in the FTD Classic Album series. This is expanded into a 2-disc set. FTD chose to include the entire June 10, 1958 sessions to give you the experience of following Elvis through a whole night of sessions. (Unfortunately, session tapes of the other recordings on this set were destroyed many years ago.) Three Elvis interview recordings are also included.

Elvis sings with authority and insolent swagger on the rockers (listen to the angst-ridden, manic 'Paralyzed') and heartfelt vulnerability and soulfulness on the ballads (the stark 'Love Me Tender'). King Creole CD

This King Creole soundtrack CD is remixed and remastered from the original three-track master tapes and includes several additional alternate takes recorded for this classic Elvis Presley movie, including an interesting rearrangement of the title track and two spare versions of "As Long As I Have You" that appeared in the movie but not on previous soundtrack releases.

By 1959 Elvis Presley had spent a full year in the Army, leaving RCA Records with no fresh material to offer his adoring public. To keep the pump primed, RCA cleaned out its vaults and came up with the material for two albums, For LP Fans Only and A Date With Elvis.
