It was simply entitled 'Elvis' Christmas Album' and was released in October 1957. Content included Christmas hymns, secular Christmas songs and non-holiday gospel numbers. It initially hit #1 for 4 weeks on Billboard's pop album chart and revisited the chart due to strong sales in subsequent holiday seasons through 1962. Elvis Presley - Elvis' Golden Records - From January 1956 to November 1957, Elvis Presley spent a phenomenal 51 weeks occupying the number 1 spot on the Billboard pop chart. With the possible exception of the Beatles, no pop artist before or since has so completely dominated American pop music. All of Elvis Presley's hits from this period are collected on Elvis' Golden Records, which was originally released in 1958 and subsequently reissued several times. The 1997 reissue is the best yet, benefiting from digital remastering and the addition of six tracks.

Elvis CD - DSD Remastered |
![]() |
Elvis is remastered using Sony's DSD technology. Includes bonus tracks, rare photographs, and original album art. This was Elvis Presley's second album release -- but only his first TRUE album, as his debut consisted of the Sun sessions. This album is a blueprint for Elvis's musical career -- he would go, in varying degrees, on the paths he set upon here. Elvis sings with authority and insolent swagger on the rockers (listen to the angst-ridden, manic 'Paralyzed') and heartfelt vulnerability and soulfulness on the ballads (the stark 'Love Me Tender'). ELVIS stands as one of the best rock & roll albums of the '50s, and one of the King's best, as well. All tracks on this Elvis Presley CD have been digitally remastered. Read Elvis CD Review.
