In February 1970 RCA recorded Elvis live in Las Vegas and released the classic live album, On Stage, but it was not until June of that year that Elvis re-entered a studio to cut an album proper. Elvis Country was the result, it was Elvis' only real concept album and in my opinion does rate as Elvis best album.

Unforeseen circumstances made Elvis cancel these sessions, but he still intended to record the new material for future release. While he died before he could begin the new sessions, six songs had already been selected. Cold Night In Nashville gathers together these tracks for the first time. A Cold Night In Nashville has ten terrific selections, Five of which are the original demo's that are the ones actually heard by Elvis. These tracks along with one of Elvis' favorites "Rainy Night In Georgia" would have constituted part of a remarkable album. Although Elvis does not sing the tunes, Cold Night In Nashville shows off Presley's unparalleled ability to pick classic material.

$29.95 : Packaging has lots of markrs, looks wel used : New Normally $44.95 : Wild In The Country in the classic albums series presented in the7" digipack format, with a booklet. All tracks have been remixed and remastered for this release and sound truly beautiful. This is a tremendous collection of stunning ballads and the rocking 'I slipped I stumbled I fell'. The outtakes are interesting and I haven't got tired of listening to 27 versions of 5 songs. Interestingly 'Husky Dusky Day' also appears and though very short (50 seconds) it is quite an amusing little ditty sung in duet with the lovely Hope Lang. One of the best FTD releases by far!
